Caedmon's Heavenly Call is a lot harder to spell than "Anna's Blog". But I picked this name for a specific reason (besides, the name Annasblog.blogspot isn't a very fun name). Wait, you say, isn't there a band named Caedmon's Call? Why yes there is. And I enjoy them a lot. But that's not why I picked the name.
Caedmon is a Gaelic name meaning "wise warrior". This reminded me of Jesus- the ultimate Victor of the ultimate war, who is also infinitely wise.
As I thought about heading off to ???? doing ??? with Jesus and trying to communicate with you, my wonderful family and friends, my partners and prayer warriors, what God is up to over here- I wanted a name that would communicate that it is about more than me. I am following the same Voice you guys are. The whole church is called to the same thing -Jesus Himself. We are all the Body of Christ, called to follow Jesus in His mission to take His fame everywhere we go. See? Its the same mission for the whole Body- I'm just volunteering to be the bottom of the foot that actually hits foreign soil.
So I liked this name, because it says who is calling (Jesus!) and reminds me that He's calling us to a hope beyond amazing, and a life beyond insane from an earthly perspective. I am, you are, all Jesus' little ones follow Caedmon's Heavenly Call.
